From Feb 8th through May 11th, 2014, an exhibit at the Reading Public Museum in Pennsylvania celebrates Klaus Ihlenfeld and his friendship with mentor and “best man” Harry Bertoia.
“I learned a tremendous amount from him; technique and materials. But more than that, Harry was an extraordinary, rare man…. the biggest way that Harry changed my life was as a human being! That was number one. Before art even!” [From the Harry Bertoia biography by Celia Bertoia to be released for the 2015 centennial]
More than 20 never-before-seen monoprints by Harry will be exhibited.
Many thanks and much appreciation to Klaus Ihlenfeld for his friendship and remembrance of Harry.
